SJ FrontPage Userguide

First of all, make sure you always download the newest version. When you buy the module, you already have the last version.
The following documentation is applied for packages from version 1.0 of SJ News FrontPage, SJ K2 FrontPage and SJ VM Frontpage modules

REQUIREMENTS

1. Joomla! v1.7.x and Joomla! v2.5.x latest stable versions are highly recommended.

INSTALLATION

1. Prepare your module package (zip file; please UNZIP first if it is indicated in the file name)
2. All steps are in administrator of Joomla!:
  • In your Administrator page, go to Extensions -> Extension Manager
    In this page, click Browse, select module package.
  • Then click Upload & Install

  • Please wait for module being installed, usually within several seconds
  • Now go to Extensions -> Module Manager, click Select Type box and choose the module you have installed
  • Then click the module listed below to configure it as SETTINGS part hereafter

Let's examine all the detail settings of SJ News FrontPage on Joomla! v2.5.x package

1. This module with sample layout is below:

  • Image of Article: This is the first image in the description of Article
  • Description of Article: This is the text of article's content
2. The parameters are divided up into the following areas:
  • Basic Options
  • Title Options and Link Opitions

BASIC OPTIONS
  • Module Class Suffix - Allow you to choose another CSS class that suits your template. Please refer here
  • Module Width - Allow to set width of module
  • Select a theme - Allow you to choose one of 4 themes available
  • Open Link - The opening window for link:
    • New window
    • Same window
  • Data Source - Choose categories that you want to show in this module
  • Custom URL - This param allows you to customize the link of each article. If you do not want to go to the detail page of article, you can change the link to another. In the textarea of Custom HTML, please use the following syntax::
    • ArticleID_1:New_URL_1
    • ArticleID_2:New_URL_2
    • ...
    With:
    • ArticleID_1, ArticleID_2,... are ids of articles. You can see the Id column in Article Manager page
    • New_URL_1, New_URL_2, New_URL_3 are links which you want to replace the orginal links. Format: http://www.newlink.com
  • Sort Order By - Allow to sort order article by:
    • Recently Added
    • Most View
    • Recently Modified
    • Ordering
    • Title
    • Random
  • Source Filter - Allow you to filter articles with 3 options:
    • All article: Show all articles
    • None Frontpage: Hide articles which are frontpage article
    • Only Frontpage: Show frontpage article only
  • The Amount of Articles - Total articles which you want to show in the module
TITLE OPTIONS and LINKS OPTIONS
  • Show Normal Title - Show/hide the normal title of article
  • Show Main Title - Show/hide main title of article
  • Show Main Description - Show/hide the Main Description of article
  • Show Normal Description - Show/hide the Normal Description of article
  • Show Read More - Show/hide Read More
  • Read More Text - Allow you to alter the text for Read more...
  • Normal Title Color - Allow to change color of the normal title
  • Main Title Color - Allow to change color of the main title
  • Article Title Max Chars - Limit number of characters on article title
  • Max Length of Main Description - Allow to set the number of characters in main description. Choosing -1 if you want to show full description.

First of all, make sure you always download the newest version. When you buy the module, you already have the last version.
The following documentation is applied for packages from version 1.0 of SJ VM Slider, SJ K2 Slider and SJ Article Slider and SJ Slider for Zoo module.

INSTALLATION

1. Prepare your module package (zip file; please UNZIP first if it is indicated in the file name)
2. All steps are in administrator of Joomla!:
  • In your Administrator page, go to Extensions -> Extension Manager
    In this page, click Browse, select module package.
  • Then click Upload & Install

  • Please wait for module being installed, usually within several seconds
  • Now go to Extensions -> Module Manager, click Select Type box and choose the module you have installed
