I want to create a new module position on the item.php page so that I can place a comment box exactly where I want it on the page:

- csn3old.csn2011go.com/index.php/caribbean/jamaica-news/item/4408-tropical-storm-watch-in-effect-for-jamaica-fishers-must-evacuate-now

I did research on the Internet and found the following:

1. index.php (template)

Place this where you want the module (comment box) to appear:

<jdoc:include type="modules" name="mynewposition" />


2. templateDetails.xml

Update templateDetails with this in the position section:

<position>mynewposition</position>


But it is not working.

What am I doing wrong or what am I missing?

I think that there is a misunderstanding.

Our templates have some specific features.

You can refer to them at www.smartaddons.com/joomla/templates/yt-framework

If you want to add a new position in the template, you can change the layout file.

Example: main-right.xml file in "templates\sj_worldnews\layouts"
