First, thank you for this really nice template.

I put my layout settings on left-main-right.xml but the site still shows like its main-left-right.xml
What am I doing wrong?

Actually when I change the setting in layout settings (left-main-right or left-main or left-right-main or main-left-right or main-right and so on) nothing changes at the frontpage, it stays main-left-right.

I didn't use quickstart, I used only the template.

Ok now it works. I copied the whole code from left-main-right.xml and pasted it in main-left-right.xml and now the site looks like I wanted.

But of course this is not a perfect solution. I don't know why the layout doesn't change when I change it in the backend.

I have the same problem!

Thank-you for posting your fix - I will try it.

When I put items in position-6 they appear on the right (not the left as intended) just to the right of position-7 items on the right hand side. I agree - changing the layout in the template appears to do nothing.

Did you find out any more about fixing the problem properly?

If you look in /templates/sj_joomla3/layouts
you can see all the xml files listed i.e.
main-left-right.xml,
variations.xml
main.xml
main-right.xml
left-right-main.xml
left-main.xml
left-main-right.xml

I thought it could just have been the wrong code for the file name (or vice-versa) but as changing the layout seems to make no difference I suspect there is another problem - perhaps that the layout name is hard coded somewhere - something that was used during development that hasn't been changed.

Dear Neil and Sergej Harms,

When you change the layout in your backend, please clear cache in Joomla and your browser.

Thanks
