Had the same issue and fixed it myself :

1. Locate the following file
your_root_directory/templates/your_template/html/mod_sj_contact_ajax/default_js.php
2. Open the file for edit with Notepad++ or another text editor
3 Find the following lines (2 each)
- success:function(data){
- complete:function(data){
4. RIGHT AFTER EACH ONE, just add the following line of code:

$image_load.css('display','none');

5. Save the file and re-upload it

You should be all set....

The line:
$image_load.css('display','none');
was already the first line after: success:function(data){

I tried adding it after: complete:function(data){
but to no avail

I see SmartAddons got their demo working, would be nice to know what they had to change.

Hi Aegir,

I think you did not completely read my post: there are TWO occurrences of the success and complete functions in the file

They both depend on whether you use a custom captcha OR the recaptcha. I guess you are using the recaptcha and this is exactly what happened to me.
Re-examine the file and locate the TWO success and complete functions and add the $image_load.css('display','none'); right after both of them...

This should be around lines 288 and 297 for the first part and around lines 334 and 350 for the second set.
