So I am using the same menu module as to the demo. Unfortunately, I have menu item that the target is set to New Windows with Navigation.

The menu is not opening in a new window at all. When I change the module target to New window. All of the menu items will open to new window

How can I set only the opening of new window or tab to a specific menu item?

The current our module don't support get 'target' from menu item, it get 'target' from configure in our module.
we will note this issue and update this function as soon as. thanks for your informatio.

Is there a possibility that I can modify the codes to remove the link that lines that implement the link target behavior and let the module pull the target from the default source which is the menu item?

=> change to:
