I just downloaded the template for 1.6 and setting this template as default I receive this error in all browsers

I already install by ftp the joomla templates and I get this:

structure or name of file: -1.xml is not exactly

When I download the template from joomla istallator as a zip then I get this:

structure or name of file: .xml is not exactly

Could anyone describe step by step what to do to solve this problem??

Why in xml file is install insted of extension?

What for are the images_j16 file and what for is the yt_news16.quickstart.without_images ?
I just download and install the yt_news_j16_template but I have only the banner YT NEWS and some standard joomla text.
I was expecting to see the same as on the demo?
