Joomla 3.0
Last week, Joomla! Group has released alpha version for 3.0, which includes top new features! As we said earlier, this is brand-new version which will be based on Bootstrap for new appearance creation.
This version is for:
- advance testing of custom extensions, for example, our modules!
- test only, not suitable for production sites!

How to upgrade to Joomla 3.0
- Migrate to Joomla! 2.5 first if Joomla! 1.5, for example.
- From Joomla! 2.5, make sure all your extensions have version that is compatible with Joomla! 3.0
- But wait! ONLY upgrade to Joomla 3.0 if Joomla reaches version beta! When?
Plans
Joomla 3.0.0 is due to be released about 24 September 2012. The plan:
- 23 July - Joomla 3.0 alpha-2 released for public testing
- mid-August - Prepare for beta release
- late-Autust - Joomla 3.0 beta 1 to be released for public testing
- 24 September - Joomla 3.0.0 released
So at least late August is the time to have some Joomla! 3.0 Websites in real.
